A good checked coat has been on my wishlist for years. There’s something super autumnal about an oversized plaid coat but I hadn’t been able to find just the right one until this season. When I say I scoured the web looking for something I loved, I really mean it and I think I found a winner…
Cue the coat of my dreams from Aritzia. The Slouch coat is surely not an underground style around these parts but the gorgeous plaid print made it feel even more luxe and special. I’ve been living in it lately for all of my wintery walks and it’s become an everyday staple for me, so I thought it deserved its very own blog post.
I love this particular colourway because the brown, black, and red tones are subtle enough while still giving the coat some texture. Since I don’t have too many prints in my autumn winter wardrobe I’ve found it’s slotted in really easily, but I think it would still look amazing over a loud floral dress for occasion dressing.
I also wanted to mention the most amazing Staud bag I picked up as my SSENSE Black Friday sale purchase. I had been on the hunt for a brown shoulder bag, and I’ve been super inspired by 90’s minimalism of late, so I thought it was the perfect choice. It’s a little bigger than my crossbody bags which is perfect for squeezing in my film camera and a tube of hand cream for this time of year. It’s my first Staud purchase and so far I’m super pleased with it. I love how it picks up the slight red tones in the coat as well, it feels like a match made in heaven!
