Welcome back to the blog! I hope wherever you are, you’re keeping well and finding some ways to enjoy the arrival of warmer weather. It’s been so gorgeous here in Toronto this week and as I type this, I’m staring out the window to a blooming tree and bright blue skies.

The month of May is one of my favourites. It’s the one where the weather really starts to turn for the better, the city turns green, and my mood finally shakes off the last vestiges of 6 months of winter. With things such as they are right now though, it’s been challenging to motivate myself to get out and enjoy all that this time of year has to offer. Most everything is closed, it’s not really clear whether sitting in parks is even allowed here in the city, and I’ve mostly been home alone the past few weeks. But despite it all, the stay-at-home order should be up in the next couple of weeks, and I have lots to look forward to this summer…
My birthday is coming up in just a couple of weeks! I usually get so anxious in the lead up to my birthday, and while 25 feels like a big one, I’ve been feeling optimistic and hopeful for the year ahead. We’re just keeping it low key and will probably go for a little picnic in our local park, and it honestly sounds perfect.
Picnics in general. There’s nothing I love more than packing a cooler of fruit, sandwiches, and beverages and sitting on a blanket in a park. The thought of it boosts my mood and I’m so excited to finally see some friends again.

Getting vaccinated! My appointment is this week and I’m fully anticipating that it’s going to be an emotional event. A lot of my friends are starting to get their shots as well, and it will honestly just be so nice to not have to constantly worry about infecting anyone and everyone I come into contact with. I think it’ll help me feel a bit more social and spontaneous again too.
Bringing my film camera with me everywhere I go. There’s something about a blue sky and tanned skin that looks so good on film. Jonah got me a little point-and-shoot for Christmas, and it’s the perfect little camera to tote around. I’m trying to force myself to go out more often, take the camera along, and take stock of the little things I find along my walks. It helps me to have a little creative activity to channel my energy into, and I hope you’ve enjoyed this little collection of random snaps from the past couple months as much as I’ve enjoyed taking them…
