It’s no secret that I love a good knit. This time of year especially, I revert to the coziest pieces in my wardrobe: the oversized cardigans, the fuzzy wools, and all the layers.
Lately, I’ve been smitten with the idea of buttoned sweaters, not only for their endless layering possibilities but also their chic simplicity. Thrown over a t-shirt or under an oversized blazer, I think there’s something about a button detail that pulls an outfit together.
This dreamy Sézane knit is one of my hero pieces this autumn. I love the fluffiness of the wool, and the half-length buttons feel very je ne sais quoi. A splurge, yes, but something that will be in my wardrobe for years to come. I’m loving it paired with these Aritzia trousers, which I have in two colours. The chicest elastic waist pants out there, as far as I’m concerned. This has been my go-to WFH outfit for easily two weeks now, and I’m not at all mad about it.
The white buttoned cardigan is from Aritzia, who I think do some really great sweaters as well. It’s a classic that looks equally good with a t-shirt and jeans as it would over a slip dress (if I had anywhere fancy enough to be). I’ve been wearing it buttoned over a t-shirt and French-tucked into some Levi’s. Instant outfit.
My dream wardrobe is one built on a foundation of classic, wear-with-everything items that will last me for years, and I think these two are fitting in quite nicely.
